Was having a look over the bike the other day and I noticed there is is a bit of back and forth play in the shaft the gear lever is attached to. Is this normal?

If the play is inward and outward on the shift shaft that sounds normal,if the play is front to back on the shift shaft it sounds excessive.Which model do you have?Nevertheless I will check my service literature and both my Husabergs and get back to you tomorrow.......nsman

Hi Whos-a-berg,1mm of play is excessive ,there is a bushing in the cover that supports the shaft and it must be showing wear on your engine....nsman

No it is not leaking at present. So can I get to this bushing through the clutch cover or do I have to remove the whole side cover? If it's not going to effect anythig to badly I might just leave it, cause it still changes gear easy enough.

You would have to remove the cover,if it still shifts fine and does not leak just keep checking it and keep riding ,its not doing any damage....nsman
