I was riding today, going down a hill. When I got to the bottom of the hill and downshifted into first, the bike would not shift out of first gear. The lever moves up and down, but it will not go anything else. I did not hear any loud noises or anything unusual. I think the shift forks are bent. Any info or comments would be greatly appreciated...

I have never bled the clutch line. The clutch seems to be working just fine. It will engage and disengage while the bike is stuck in first gear.

Ditto (in a round about way) what Husabutt pointed you towards. Your problem is more than likely the sliding plate of your shifting mechanism which gets a burr built up on the claw over time. File or sand the burr and shifting will be like new. You'll even be able to find neutral easier. You might want to have a new waterpump gasket as well as a clutch cover gasket handy for re-assembly. Remember to remove the water impeller before removing the clutch cover.

You'll want to get the piston on TDC before removing the clutch assembly and have the timing marks in the correct position.
