So on the weekend me and my mate went out and picked up a pair of Bergs, FX450's
Thought id show some pics and post mods as I complete them.

Fist plan is to install a map switch, and Radiator Fan. Will also be making a custom plate up to house the switches and lights (fuel, EFI, Map Light, Fan)

Congrats on the new bike! I love my FX450. Coming off an 03/04" KTM 525SX, the Berg is just fantastic. Just an easier, more enjoyable bike to ride in every way.
One mod I highly recommend is the JD Jetting EFI tuner.
(I've installed the JD tuner and a FMF MegaBomb w/4.1 slipon) Great throttle response and nice sound (not loud by any means) Just let's it breath better and adds in seat-of-the-pants performance from idle all the way through WFO.
(I run the quite-core in the woods and remove it for Supermoto)

Enjoy it! It's an amazing bike.

Its Victorian Recreational Rego.
can ride on Crown land, State Forests ECT.

Im not sure about other states but we need a "Rec Reg" to ride on State land.
Costs about 65 bucks a year. And its to ensure people have Lights ECT in the bush.

wow, big difference to the Full Rego of $491 a year I pay up here in NSW. I don't think we have recreational rego up here.

Bit Of VIc Rec Reg Info, for those interested.

All recreation motorcycles must have:
a rear vision mirror fitted to the right hand side (no one i know actualy has one fitted, Generaly overlooked by the police.)
brakes fitted to both wheels, capable of working independently if one brake fails
one head lamp
one rear red tail lamp
one rear red brake lamp
one rear white number plate lamp
a silencing device which restricts the noise level to 94 dBA or less
an appropriate horn or warning device wired into the motorcycle's electrical system
a chain guard that protects the rider from the front chain sprocket

Recreation motorcycles are only permitted to be operated on roads (except declared freeways and arterial roads, including roads formerly designated as forest roads, under the Road Management Act 2004) that are:
located outside "built up areas" as defined by speed zones of less than 100 km/h, or
those areas that are not a road and are solely for the training and assessment of a holder of a motorcycle learner permit by an organisation approved by VicRoads for that purpose
the vehicle must not carry any load or a person other than the rider
the rider must wear a protective helmet of the type approved under the Road Rules Victoria

Beautiful bikes! (photos)

Here in Arizona, I'm fortunately able to street legalize my FX450. Just required Headlight, taillght light, rear view mirror, horn, and vehicle registration/ insurance.

I too am very fond of my FX450. Great bike! :D

And thanks RogerB for tip on JD EFI mod. I was curious if worth doing.
