Okay so I didn't get any response to does anyone have or know of a 70deg underseat tank for sale

So

Does anyone have a link or a what has worked well when the original underseat unit is converted

I think u might have just missed the final over run of the 70 degree tanks on cycle buy there was a post on here about a month ago. maybe you could call them and ask.

i saw a post on here or maybe adv about using the stock subframe as a tank but there seemed to be problems trying to seal it.

Yeah I've tried contacting both 70deg & cyclebuy but haven't had a reply from either yet
Don't know the reason but you'd imagine if there was a demand they would keep producing?

Only bought the bike a couple of weeks ago,
Hadn't been looking before that

Just have to keep looking or it'll be a winter project rear subframe:cold:

Post in the wanted section and see if anything turns up. A few people was searching for one before cyclebuy posted that they had some.

Thanks for the info

I'd tried for the 70deg tank but there doesn't appear to be any knocking about

I'm looking at doing the conversion of the original at the moment just gathering the parts I reckon that I need

I'd still purchase a 70deg one if one shows up though

Sub frame tank

I think I must have grabbed one of the last sub frame tanks. it has just arrived here in New Zealand. payed the dam customs duty today and should be here on Thursday
Tried filling my original subframe with hot water and it leaked around the inner part of the grab handle. ( is a 2012 fe 570) would have converted it if it was not for the leak. looked long and hard for a suitable epoxy glue but came up with same answer, " it will eventually leak" plastic welding may work.
also built a front tool box that sits in front of the motor. It contains a custom built removable 3litre fuel tin and a few tools. that could be an option for thought.

maybe we should start a group buy thread and see if they will accommodate the demand?

My understanding is this last run was the last run they where able to do with the last set of molds. Doing more would require new ones. I would think it would be possible if you get enough people though.

who actually produced them? would be interesting to know how much new molds cost / what their threshold would be to tool them. probably not cheap...

From the cyclebuy staff:

"Tommy,

Unless you were able to cover the cost of insurance and mold repair ($15k+/-) It isn't going to happen. The demand is there but is diminishing by the day. At this point there is not enough sales to justify continuing.

Thanks,
Aryn Richardson"

sounds like a group buy would have to be in the 30-40 range to keep it within the previous (retail) price...

According to 70deg I got the 2nd to last one ever made. power search craigslist, good luck

Fitted my 70 degree tank today to my 570 and was extremely impressed with the quality. fitting was almost perfect. had to file the battery holding bracket bolt holes slightly, the tank must be slightly wider where the battery fits, compared to the original sub frame. a quality bit of kit. Had to be carefull with the small M5 bolts not to cross thread them. I used anti seize on all the bolts so the come out easily.
I e-mailed cycle buy 3 or 4 months ago (might be longer?) and asked them to put me on the wait list. got an e-mail 2 months ago saying they have a few left over. payed for it straight away. took a while but it arrived yesterday. It cost $479 usd plus freight.
The guy I was dealing with at cycle buy was Aryn Richardson. I guess if you e mail them they might contact the builder with the demand and repair the molds. Sounds expensive though.
cheers

That front tool box sounds interesting. Do you happen have some pictures of it?
