Could someone enlighten me about what would need be done to run lights on a 2006 fs650c? I might pull the trigger on one if making it street legal is as easy as my fe. thanks

Hi jzfe,

To run lights on your competition FS 650 you need to change:stator, flywheel, pickup, stator cover and after that you will need head light, switch etc
The cost only for the genarator parts its 400 euro I think, for buying them new

Really,what model is your Berg?

The bike in question would be a 2006 FS650c, which I would use as street/commuter bike. Sounds like a fun way to go the 25 miles to and from work every day. My current fleet is in my sig.

Nice idea,I didnt know about that SuperMotoMike!I am not an electrician but if some guys done it,propably works. The good thing is that the bike will not loose his performance, because if you install the "BIG" generator the weight will be more on the crank

Have a look in my gallery and you'll find a wiring diagram for a home made wiring harness.

If you want to make it really simple without changing stator, just use a total loss electrical system powered from a small bike or scooter battery that you recharge overnight when necessary. Just work out the time you need to run with lights and you can figure out the necessary AH rating for the battery. I run mine from the battery and mostly only use charge for the rear brake light which is led - therefore lasts an age.

All the best,
Simon
