There are times to gather and analyze information, formulate and evaluate the options, and make a reasoned decision. And there are times when a reasoned decision will take so long that you will have lost the opportunity to make one. If they've stopped making FS570s and that's what you've got to have, then you'd better jump before the opportunity vanishes. If you're a thousand short, it won't matter as much as if you're an FS570 short.
Here's my story. I've been a street/road rider for over 30 years and the closest thing I've ever owned to a dirt bike was a Honda Transalp, which isn't much of a dirt bike at all. But I hope to retire in about two years and move to the Colorado high country, and I KNOW I'll both want and need a very capable dirt bike. I don't need the bike for two years, but I bought an FE 570 because it had a $2500 rebate on it and I'd never get one for a better price. I could have easily waited, but this gives me two years to learn how to ride the thing!
