You won't know it is true until they announce it officially.

I swear, the motorcycling world is worse than the Macintosh world - always rumors about this and that. None of it matters until it makes it to market. Even if they *are* working on it, a thousand and one things could go wrong and they could drop it. That's the nature of the beast.

why would they make a 710? that would be too big for SM? why? 650 maybe? a little more than 570 maybe? but 710?

i think you are a=on about a JBS 710 for the old 650 engine?

regards

Taffy

I think this might also be some BS about a 710cc displacement Kit for the new slanty engine, I read some of it on another site.

Gazza has it on good authority that 610 is it for the new cases and head.

It will be a completly nem engine with 80 HP, if everything is true. And who told me this plan said that in 2009 september will be announced. I'm veryvery quiorused!

Yeah, I'm not really interested in bumping up the displacement at this point. My 570 has plenty of power and I haven't even run it on the 'agressive' mode yet.

If I want to ride street then I get on the Ducky.

I do think the bike would make a good SM, but for anything other than short rides it is the Ducky for me over a thumper SM.

RE: Re: RE: FS 710

i've heard about this huge displacements too, I've heard that TM has a prototype ready with a +700cc cilinder

the 21st of november its TM-test days in belgium, and the organiser said that there would be a possibilitie to test their 530 and the 660 and that MAYBE we'd could also test their new 730cc bike
i can't finf anything on the TM-site about it though
maybe it is just a prototype or a 660 that has been enlarged, but anyway, i will let you know how this ends !

A 710 might be to large for the track.
On the street it would be great. First a SM then a enduro. Both would make great DS bikes.

what are DS bikes ??

i think it would be nice if they could make a bike with a huge displacement that still looks sharp, because in my opinion the ktm 690 and 990 supermotos are way to fat to be a real supermoto

besides, the difference between 710cc and 650cc isnot huge

tm have been playing with moster displacements for a couple of years.

wasnt aware they were planning to move it to production and would be surprised if they did.

the reason they had something like a 750 was because they could and it was used as a bit of a tech demo, factory toy.

DS = Dual Sport = on/off road bikes.

okay, so a ds bike is like a supermoto
wrong,SM bikes are more for asphalt and corners, thats why they have the wide smooth tires.DP bikes are the motorcycle version of a Jeep Wrangler. The two can have some similar character I guess.
