does any one have a feel regarding jetting a 2004 fs 650e with a complete Akrapovic titanium exhaust system.elevation typically sea level to 4000 foot :?: thanx, dan.

Dan could you give me your standard settings and i'll give you a safe and an advanced setting that you can decide on.

how was the jetting standard? lean, good, backfiring, sounded dull or cracking?????

the bike is coming in next wednesday for the pipe install.we were planning on jetting it while it is here .i want to make sure i have the proper jets in stock when it is here.right now the stock needle is one richer, the pilot jet is a 48,the air jet a 60 ,and the main jet is stock.the stock pipe in the us comes with a spark arrestor.i am guessing the Akropovic will affect the jetting needs and want to be prepared for any changes warranted.

i don't have the specs on your carb but i do have it on the '04 550.

if it's true that you have a #60 PAJ then you may have mis-read the PJ size and it is infact a 38PJ. this would be inline with my PA/PJ ratios that i worked out 3 years ago. am i chuffed or what!

however there is the chance that you have a 100PAJ to which the 48PJ is about right but that a 45 or even a 42 would be better. try some little pop wheelies in the yard when warmed up and take the PS (underneath) in and out + or - 1/2 turn to get the snap right.

if best is 1 turn out from closed then you need a smaller PJ and if you need more than 2 turns out from closed then you need a larger PJ although at #50 i would say that you'd better go to the doctors as well.

the 170MJ is fine.
