Hi having been out on me berg a few times the front end did not seem right it just felt like you had no control on what the front was doing.I read all the info on front ends well not all as would still be reading now but a lot of good info though very useful. So i decided to strip the forks the guy i brought it off said it had had new fork seals so i though as you do everything would be right. Not the case tipped the oil out of the legs and one leg had about 100ml less oil than the other. The air gap i used was 140 as my forks are 43mm upside downers i dont know if this is correct or not i have set everything to standard and they feel better but i have yet to ride off-road.Also iam not mr mechanic but can read and follow instructions and they are good instructions on this site with all the docs aswell.I will keep you informed iwill start at the base setup and go from there any info would be very helpful
Cheers Ade

try squirting another 20cc in each leg if they bottom. otherwise bikes aroud that time suffered from the same problems they do now! if they are still stiff lay the bike on it's side, take the compression caps out the bottom of the fork (one at a time) and pull 2 of the 5/6 24mm shims off.

Cheers for that will give it an outing and go from there. The trouble is finding a happy medium you have a wide difference in terain soft, hard.rocky and so on.A little gadget i use for putting oil into the forks is a little 5ml syringe that came with the kids medicine it injects nicely through the bleed screws.I did this first by puttinf more oil in then i thought i best just see how much oil is in the forks and as i said earlier there was 100ml difference.so back to the begining at least i know i have the same amount in each leg now.Let the frustration begin
Cheers Ade
