So, I've just bought FF's 05 UK Championship bike. It seems as it did work well once though:

It's sporting a close ratio 6 speed box. Were six speeds ever delivered in different ratios?

It'll be interesting...

you really MUST look at the doc my old fruitgum! it's all there mate! you need data so instead of me looking it up i'm sure you can find your way around. tuning > engine

For about 5 years now I've been telling people that the way to go on a motard is the close ratio 6-speed gearbox

I also told everybody that by far the best way to improve the front end was to use a 5" rear rim...... it helps with a lot of other stuff too. Then a couple of years later even the factory decided it was a good idea OEM on the FSc........

But then who's going to listen to some silly *****

have you thought about writing down some SM stuff, i don't think we have the traffic for a full blown area and even if we had it we would have had the 2 posts and gone brigade. quite frankly we're unlikely to have gained anyone, might have had more knowledge i suppose.

i believe the engine tuning i'm covering well enough but the chassis work .....

i have ridden two SMs on the road: LBrown and Scoots and they bith weaved badly. yet i never even see newbies asking to get that one sorted.

left you a message about machining your cases BTW...

Yes I did. So didn't you use it?

not really i'm afriad, i bought it after the lydd championship round in 2005 it had only done 2 motard masters events (winter series) and the lydd round when i got it. I then did 3 race days and about 3 track days in 2005. It never left my garage in 2006  its prob done 20-25hrs. its a good quick bike and felt much quicker than the standard 450 i also had at the time. saying that i'm back on a 550 now which i find easier to ride.
cheers

Sounds great. I'm after a bit more power, and obviously fed up with the four speed box. On some courses it works, others not at all.

May I ask how heavy you are? Did you adjust the damper settings etc? I've been told that FF is a quite small and light bloke.
