Here we go! Please cast your vote and then post as well. In your post please explain why you chose your destination(s) and what you can bring to the table (organizational skills, knowledge of the area, ect. or just yourself ready for a good time).
Both the current places have pro's and con's.
Moab pro's. Moab is a really cheap date if you can get there.Accommodations were very cheap. The campground handled the group very well and there is a motel in very close proximity for those wanting something a little less spartan. Very off road friendly. They cater to off road tourism and know where there bread is buttered. Views and terrain are truly unique. This place should be on any off roaders bucket list. The times spent around the campfires made it all really worth while.
Moab con's- 7 hours plus away from any major airport. No dealer support. Not enough experienced guides was a small problem.
Crested Butte pro's. CB/Gunnison has some of the best trails on earth. The group has only touched a fraction of the trails available in 2 visits. Dealer and guide support is unparalleled. I can not believe that we have not done the Alpine loop as a group. As a duel sport ride this has to be in the top of the bucket list. 135 miles of awesome. Harmels had a variety of offerings to entertain family and significant others if they choses to make the trip.
Crested Buttes con's. This is an "E" ticket ride (pricey but worth it). We have not found a place yet to accommodate everyone (perhaps Harmels could be persuaded to allow RV parking next time). 4-5 hours from the nearest large airport, but flights can be made into Gunnison.
