Sparks,
The magnets came loose inside the flywheel of my 2000 TC610 Husky. Can sometimes rebond them, but 2 are broken. Would you have access to a flywheel? It is the Ducati ignition.

Hi dsducati,

Yes I know this ignition very well, was also put on the Beta techno and the VOR, just reset some magnets for a VOR flywheel for Midwest racing UK. Do you have the broken magnets if so resetting them will not be a problem this system was prone for the magnets shifting I have a jig to reset them in the correct place, but to source a replacement could be difficult and if new is available I think they were silly money and you had to buy the stator as well.

Sparks.

I have the broken magnets that were in half and have glued them back in place. Now the ignition timing wanders all over the place. I think the broken edges are acting as a separate magnet or something. Was hoping you had a flywheel around from someone who had their stator go bad.
thank you
dan

No the broken magnets will not cause this, but I under stand your thinking. Sounds to me that the whole magnet ring is shifting about. I've seen a lot of with cracked magnets with no ill effect. Send it over and I will rejig and bond them back in. $90 all in.

Regards

Steve.

Sorry so long to reply, but I had ordered a new ignition from Ferraci and wanted to install it before I made any more comments. George at Uptite had repaired the old flywheel and set the magnets in time with a jig he made, but he warned me it might not run correctly with the broken magnets. Was a bit worried I had ordered an ignition I didn't need after talking to you, but the new flywheel did fix the problem. I removed the new flywheel and then installed the new stator as well. If you ever need a good stator for a 2000 TC/TE 610/410, I have one. It is the newer 4 coil version.
