As some have seen in a different post, my flywheel is toast.

A friend of mine has got a flywheel of a 2003 FC550. Is this the same flywheel as my 2004 FC450?

If they are the same, and are interchangeable. Would the new flywheel need to be balanced with the crank assy or is it just bolt on?

No the flywheels are different, and not interchangeable.

The flywheel is a prebalanced bolt on.

From the damage on the flywheel, I would guess that the ignition stator got damaged also?

Joe

2003 models came were equipped with the SEM ignition. In 04 the ignition was changed to a Kuokosan unit.

Perhaps if you post a parts wanted ad someone may have a spare laying around as the stator and flywheel are sold as a pair (from Husaberg anyway) and usually the stator goes out first.

Also consider purchasing a new stator and flywheel assembly as your SEM stator is sure to need replacement anyway in the next few years
