Seriously cooked my 628, will need the works doing but can't get the rotor off, ripped the threads out of two pullers, applied heat, freeing oil, rattle gun....:(
Any ideas?

patience and perseverence.
i always have put a moderate amount of tension on the puller and gave a quick smack on the puller bolt with a medium ballpein. ymmv

Hmm thanks Ned,
Tried that :( too much heat will **** the magnets yes?
I'll get another puller and start again, this one does not want to let go!

I remember years ago pulling a flywheel off a dirt bike engine laying on its sid on the bench. Smacked it, tightened, smacked, repeat, repeat, and the last smack popped it off jumping a meter off the bench. Scared the hell out of me

maybe try a different brand of puller

magnets will be ok to 200c for short time. if you have oxy acetylene a quick blast to the centre sould be fine, when it comes off cool the magnets with compressed air

An old tractor mechanic used a torch on a bolt and then immediately quenched it with cold water. The bolt came out. He said the quenching released the rust. I've had luck with an aerosol product called loctite freeze.

Nope!
It's not coming off! Pulled the threads out of three different brands of puller, hot, cold, soaked in oil, left under tension overnight... external puller? The radius on the back of the rotor!
If anyone's got any ideas, half the town has been round to have a crack at it!

:(

So! It's off! Unbelievable tight!
Right, what happened was rebuilt my 628 with the RTS stage 3 gas flowed head, 1mm Kibblewhite valves. Took her to Oulton Park where she absolutely flew in the first session, fastest thing I've ever ridden, ever!
About half way through the second session she seemed to lose power, not pulling so hard......and then....BOOM! I thought the head gasket had blown but no:(
Back in the pits I spotted a hole in the nicely tuned head! A small stone from the gravel trap had gone through the radiator, probably thrown up from a rider in front. No warning, no steam, didn't spot the temperature going up. The engine got so hot it melted anything plastic, including wires, oil pump gear, cam chain guides, all seals!
I've now got two wrecked motors on the bench, happy days:spin:
The 644 is dead, crank broke but the 628 rebuild starts now, why oh why didn't I take up golf!

The adrenaline from golf doesn't exist. Your/We are all adrenaline junky and Motorcycle/Husabergs are a great way to get it........... Only negative is it's a lot of work to get it!

Sorry to hear the bad news.
The alloy is probably gone soft now.
Check the hardness before investing time or money on it.
