Hi all, hope you can help. My `99 FE501E has a flooding problem.
It starts and runs ok in neutral, and at moderate throttle openings when taking it nice and easy but if I give it a good hand full it floods. I can rev the berries off it out of gear and all is well, it only happens under propper engine load.... :?
I can only think it`s the floats sticking but how do I stop it? If I turn the fuel tap off or give the carb a good tap it usually stops.
I have replaced the needle valve and seat and tried to lower the floats but it still does it.
The floats are the seperate type on sliders.
Thanks Kev.

i'm sure something was lost in the translation, but i have this image of you with the throttle pinned in third bent over looking under the carb to watch the fuel dribble out 8O .
perhaps you need to renew the needle and needle jet on the carb if it is a dellorto.

Nothing lost in the translation, thats about right!!
Yes its a standard PHM40, forgot that bit :?
Since it started happening I pootle along to somewhere I can give it a handful, let it rip and then slam the brakes on and check it. Then turn the petrol tap off, give the carb a wack, pootle back home and take it to bits again! :(
Thanks for the reply,advice.
Regards Kev.

give us a call i did two 'kits' today so i'm used to it. you need an atomiser, new needle, the PJ is probably way too big (put there by johnnie be good), and i put a smaller choke jet in with 'O' ring.
