Sorry for posting here but my buddies computer is down and I am just trying to help a friend. My buddy has an 07 EXC 450, Street legal model. Rarely ridden. Lansing Cycle told him to richen the jets since it is set up lean for emissions. The problem is when he put it back together it ran fine but when he turned it off, gas filled the airbox, cylinder and exhaust. We figured the float was put on improperly so we had to tear the whole bike down again to get to the carb. Pulled the bowl, checked the valve, everything seemed in proper order. Put it back together and the exact same thing happened. There was so much fuel in the cylinder the battery wouldn't even spin the motor. I am not that familiar with the FCR carb but I really think we put it togeher properly. Did we miss something? Thanks guys, First big ride next weekend!

my needle use to stick occasionally, sometimes i had to give the side of the carby a tap release it.i also had a problem with the o ring that seals the seat, take the seat out & replace that.mine looked good but was still leaking.
float height i think there is a difference between mk1 & mk2.
mk2 has hot start mk1 hasn't.which onee is it?
..weed..

If it wasn't doing it before you pulled it apart, then you must have re assembled it improperly.

Lacking the information as to what you actually changed etc ect it's hard to tell.

You did something very wrong as the excess fuel should have been coming out the over flow tube on the float bowl itself.

Take a close look at the exploded view and try to work it out, or get someone who is familiar with that carb. And don't put it back on the bike until you are sure you've got it right, hook up the fuel line to the tank turn it on and make sure that it isn't overflowing fuel.

Oh and get that fuel out of the cylinder by pulling the compression release before you hydraulic it and bend the rod. You will also need to get that oil out of it BEFORE you start it as the oil now most certainly is filled with gasoline.

what is gasoline?

this often happens and all you needed to do was tap the side of the carb with the butt of your screwdrivre = cured.

i still wanna know what gas-leen is? id that like fewel?

i heard someone bought a gallon one night and because i love 8 pints on a saturday i figured it's BEER!!!!!!

Just a follow up on the problem:
(heythanks for the help on the questions, the KTM IS ALIVE!!! They sold me the worng pilot jet, had to go back to stock, no big deal.I bent the float pin up 2mm per the mechanics advice, unplugged the overflow vapor canister, then gave the carb a good ******** (in private) and like every ********, it makes everything like new. Maybe your Berg just needed a romantic moment, too.(??) It fired right up, idles nice and pulls like a ***** ape. I will change the oil of course, set the shock up and we're in bin-nit.)
Thanks for the help guys!
