Well, last summer having raced my 2010 FE450 I bought a 2011 KTM 250XCF for racing JDay events. I ran much faster on the lighter 250 than I did on the 450. Eventually I sold the 450 planning on doing all my riding on my 250.

As you can see I then went crazy converting my 11 into a 280 2013 works version.

Well, I pulled into my local shop right after the new husabergs arrived and bought a 2013 TE300 figuring on using that for my trail bike and to register it for local sanctioned trail rides. Keeping the KTM for racing.

Last week I drove down to North Carolina for some riding and decided at the last minute to take both bikes. well........The TE300 is INCREDIBLE!!!!!! My friends could not believe how fast I was on this bike! I was close to Bart Hayes place in Wilksboro, where the "factory Husaberg" team is based and he manages, so I went over and talked to him about it. He pointed out that with my body weighing in around 200lbs that stiffer springs are in order so this morning I dropped the bike off there on the way to the airport for him to setup before my return next month. I then got on my 250 (now a 280) KTM and I have to say.....sadly......I am way faster on the husaberg. There are these steep downhills that turn 120 degrees halfway down and with the TE I could honestly come to a complete stop, balance trials style, turn the bars and pivot at 1/2 mph without any feeling of it tipping over or loosing balance whereas on the KTM it would feel awkward. The KTM has complete revalved suspension and it does not compare to the smoothness of the stock husabergs suspension. Everyone that I let try it was amazed at just how...."perfect"......this bike performs.
I guess now I'm gonna convert my 280 into my registered trail bike and race my husaberg.

Sorry, but as you can see, I smacked a tree so I cannibilized the barkbusters off the KTM to put on the Husaberg till I go back down there.

Although I ride and occasssionally race in the high desert, my bike of choice has been a two stroke for years. They start and stop much quicker due to the weight difference. Plus, they tread lightly, if so desired. When I need a plated bike to operate on the road, my 450 fits the bill quite nicely as a dual sport.

Congrats on a great and beautiful bike!

The TE 300 gets high appraises everywhere. Many of my friends, and me included, ride faster and have more fun on the 2 strokes. Most of the 4 stroke guys come away amazed after a TE test ride, with a big grin on their face :D
