I keep getting error codes of 9 blinks.

Could this be causing my bike issue of being really hard to start?

2011 FE570

I'd like to know the answer to this question on this two year old thread as well.

I have a 2010 FE570 converted to a snowbike. Bike was running great until yesterday. Noticed that the mount point on the right shroud had come out of the mount and the top of the air filter was slightly exposed. Night riding the evening previous the snow was coming over the top of the bike, but I did not see the slight gap in the shroud exposing the top right edge of the filter. The following day, warmer and sunny went riding again. At the top of the 2500 foot road climb, the bikes FI codes started blinking 9 times for the manifold error. Then the bike cut out, had difficulty restarting and ran rough. Got it down off the hill with the FI light solid the whole time, trailered it out.

Today I started it on the trailer, but giving it gas it would cut out. Took off the seat and inspected the air box. A small amount of milky fluid sitting in the cup holder below the filter. The filter felt damp to the touch. The whole time the 9 blink code kept going off every 3-5 seconds. With the air filter off I gassed the engine and the FI light stayed on solid. Finally put it inside my enclosed trailer and tried starting it again. The bike started, then cut out when I gave it gas and now won't restart at all.

I am wondering if wet melting snow got on the filter and somehow moisture is in the engine.

1. What EXACTLY does the manifold light mean? Where should I start looking for that problem?

2. Can you drain the gas and run HEET in a FI Husaberg?

3. ANY other thoughts or suggestions? I am 10K into this Timbersled and I am deadlined 4 rides into the season :(

Ouch :/

Well, the 9-blinks one is "manifold absolute pressure" either too low or too high - or, I believe - that the sensor is out. Just to throw thoughts out there: Any chance the moisture messed with the sensor itself?

Been over the electrical connections too, to be sure?

I am going to start pulling it apart today, and inspecting everything. I am not certain how to interpret the manifold absolute pressure code. Any thoughts on that one?

Went out this morning to start troubleshooting.

1. Bike fired up right away...strange...no FI codes....AWESOME....let it idle for 3 min and the FI code started blinking 9 again....SUCKY...

2. Revved it...FI light stayed solid when on the gas...blinks 9 code when off....

3. Shut it down and restarted it a few times...was getting harder and harder to get it started each time....then it would start cutting out on it's own....

I put in clean air filter and checked all the fuses during this process. Is this a potential bad fuel pump? The previous owner ordered one from Boss Husaberg in Portland, OR and feels pretty certain it's one of the newer ones and not the bad OEM version. But it kind of seems like it might be. Good air, good spark...FI issues and dies on it's own.

Any ideas? I need to get started on fixing it ASAP.

A fuel pump failure shouldn't give FI codes. Do you have a dealer nearby that can plug in the diagnostic tool? It could be a sensor that is faulty so the ECU get wrong values.
I don't know how the Husaberg software works but on some systems a default value is used if no sensor is plugged in. So maybe you can find something out just by unplugging one sensor at a time and see if anything changes? If not atleast you can check the connections and see if moisture/corrosion is messing up the readings.
