Hello all,
I am new to the forum although have been watching for a while. I am a Husaberg dealer in Australia and thought you might be int erested in my own personal bike, which I like to call an FE550c:
2007 FE550e with WP twin chamber forks, modified shock and custom colors. The engine is the interesting part: electric start removed, head porting cleaned up, 13:1 450 high comp piston, genuine slipper clutch, FC CDI & flywheel, powerblade, RAD fuel bowl, oil breather/catch tank, 2004 FE650 exhaust system with Akropovic muffler. Some time has been taken to carefully jet the bike now that the engine fumes are no longer in fuel system. The bike starts easily, is totally reliable and is an absolute rocket ship, throttle response is instant. It is still very rideable and makes a standard 550 feel as though it has some major restrictors in it. I also run the 2008 7.5 litre fuel tank, which gives the illusion of even lighter weight than it is. Overall a great, fast, fast bike.

I will gladly send some photo's if someone can tell me how. I did send one as an attachment with the listing but it is not shown. By the way, I was at Milan for the release of the 2009 prototype, and it is way better in the flesh than the photo's. I already have 13 paid deposits. Can't wait. Having said that the 2008 bike is a fantastic thing as well. Bergs are best!
Cheers,
K

I like your addition of the Fc flywheel. I've riden a 550 FC and like how it revs, and always wondered how this would work with the FE 550. I tried it on the my 380, and it killed it. The 450 piston, was it a simple bolt on? No valve pocket mods?

The 450 piston has a slightly different pin height, and you have to mill .75mm of the top of the piston. Not a problem for any engineer worth his salt. After that fits straight in. The oil breathing system is probably one of the best mods as the bike now gets cool clean air, rather than hot fumy air as with the standard system. The tank we have made vents the fumes but catches any oil and directs it back into the engine via the starter motor hole. I will load some photo's when I find out how to do it.
Cheers,
K
