I'm ready to retire my fc600 for a new left over '06 fe550 and wanted some feed back on what you guy's think of yours. :)

I was super impressed with the 06 FE550 I rode. Sooo much nicer than a 525EXC. Super smooth power from idle to wide open. The handling is what blew me away compared to the 525. It actually turns!!

Get one. You will be happy.

I have an 06 550 and have been very happy with it. I've put about 60 hours on it with only the normal maintenance. I love the stability of the chassis and the motor. This is my first Husaberg and I'm tall, so it has taken awhile to get the ergos where I like them, but that is all documented on this site.

Thanks guys, I was set on a FE450 but my dealer dude has been trying to talk me into the 550 since I've been riding a 600, plus I'm 6'3" 205. He thought I would agree the extra expense of a 550 would be well worth it. 8)

I went from a DRZ to a FE450. Now a year later I wish I had bought a 550.

I am ready.

get the 2006 FE550e from Dan. That's a good deal on a great bike.

I bought my FE450 only becasue I had a TE-510 for the open country. The FE450 is a great woods bike as is the FE550 but the FE450 kinda sucks in the Desert.

If you ride stonyford and go to the Nevada desert some then get the FE550. If you are a tight woods only guy, then the 450 is a sweet ride.

My recomendation is get that new 2006 Fe550e. saw it at the shop today. It's calling you.

About time :D You better not get an 07,they're far too cool looking in person.I'd be jealous

Buy the Fe-550. I love mine. Dan will set it up perfect and all you have to do is have fun.

Don't get one. They're slow, unresponsive and you'll have to change the oil every 150 miles or so.........

Heeeh heeh,

Log, I reckon you have a severe case of Bovinus Excretia Verbosa :?: , (talkin' Bull sh*!t), Mr. Squarehead, you'll have a blast on the 550, log is pullin' yer leg... he's probably ringing now to put a deposit on it for himself...

no offense Log..

Right on guy's, I agree with all of you including Dan, except so far, I've been mostly riding in the wood's, and Dan found me a '06 Fe450e demo for six grand out the door. What do you think now?

If you are physically fit, and too young to be an AARP member, get the 550. I am 6'4", 205lb, and love my FE450. I believe that a good rider can go nearly anywhere as fast on a 450 as on a 550. Maybe faster in some situations. But, if you still have the strength, endurance, and reflexes, get the 550. The power is just too much fun! My opinionFWIW.

Hey, I purchased a 07 FE450 from BOSS as my first Husaberg and I love it. So much better then my 99YZ400F. 6 Grand sounds like a great deal with the exception that we all know demos are ridden hard..

I can't imagine a 450 not being enough engine unless of course all you do is desert & wide open fire road riding. But heck I'm from the east coast & in our neck of the woods a 450 is more then enough on our trails so take what I say with a grain of salt.
As far as demos go I just bought a former demo bike & it has hardly any time on it so it's definitely worth pursuing if you decide to go the 450 route.Either way good luck & I'm sure you'll love whichever Berg it is you end up with.

6K out the door? hmm I'll sell you my 2006 FE450e with 125 hours for 5800, you pay the sales taxes and I'll buy that 2006 Fe550e from Dan.

In other words 6k out the door for a nearly new Fe450e is a screaming screaming deal. I paid 8100 OTD for my new Fe450e one year ago and would not part from it for less then $5800.

BTW you never told us the Fe550e cost OTD but isn't it about 7200? guessing casue the sticker was 6500 +fees and taxes)

If you ride only woods save the $1000+( below the Fe550 e cost OTD) and get the 450 it's a great woods bike.

Bottom line if you ride woods, save $1000, buy the nearly new FE450e, but if you ride 30% open trails like big stonyford or any desert then spend the extra $1000 and get the new 550.

Bigbob is right. But if you are like me and enjoy the rush of real horsepower every now and then get the 550. It will make you giggle like a little girl.
