I'm looking for a Supermoto to do some tarmac sprints/hill climbs this year.
I'm very tall so I'm a bit restricted as to choice.
My bike budget's about £2000.

I've read that Husaberg's may suit taller people ?
If so - what model & year should I focus on to get started ?
I've seen this on eBay which is near me............any good ?

In my opinion, Husabergs seem to fit smaller people better. I'm 5'9''/175cm and they fit me better than do the 4-stroke KTMs. I've owned a "96 FE501, 2001 400MXC, '02 FE650, '03 450EXC, and currently ride an '05 FE550 and I feel more at home on the 'Bergs than the KTMs. The feel of the Husabergs (especially the earlier ones like the '98) feel like you sit more in than on top of the bike and feel like the pegs are higher than on other brands in relation to the seat.

But don't let that stop you! You can always get taller seat foam.

this is a very old bike but I would say an excellent choice - if it can hack being thrashed at that age?

you sit 'in' those old bikes and 'on' the later bikes so I would say again - good choice for the tall rider.

you take your chances....

i would say that about any bike over 24 months old though. if you're not a competent mechanic you need to either become one bloody quick or buy 'nearly new' don't you?
