Fe450 speedo not working

Hi all, first post so please be gentle with me my mate has bought a 2009 fe450, when he bought it he recond the speedo worked but now it doesn't, I've replaced the battery and checked the power supply and earth's to it but still nothing, I start the engine, spin the front wheel and try pushing the buttons on the dash but absolutely nothing comes up on the dash, no lights no numbers nothing, any ideas?

See if the magnet on disc is missing. Or wire still good from speedo to sending unit.

Thanks for the reply, should the dash not light up or show something when the buttons on the dash are pushed? I may have to cut the wiring from the magnetic pick up to check as the last owner has glued the connection together at the dash side of things!!!! It aint easy fixing someone elses repairs!!!!!!!!!

I have similar problem

My speedo was all dirty inside. I've change small microswitches (3 pcs) from the operation buttons. Now changing the options is working fine, but i don't have backgroun light and speed is always 0. I've buy new speed sensor and install as it was previously but still no good results

Wires from sensor to plus under speedo are checked and was fine. Maybe someone knows how to check speed sensor with multimeter?
Please help. I want to keep original speedo, don't want Trial Tech for this moment...
