Gday, I ride at a medium pace and Im thinking of getting the Mapswitch.
Can I get some feedback on the FE450 performance with the Mapswitch set on soft, for technical tracks and hill climbs, as Ive only ever ridden this bike with the power set on full from factory.
Thanks in advance for any info........Cheers Sav

Greetings,

If you don't have the map switch now, the bike will default to the "standard" setting. With the map switch you gain "aggressive" and "soft".

I don't have a 450, but, using the map switch on my 570 has proved useful in very technical and slippery conditions by setting it to position #1 or soft. The torque is still there although the motor does not spin up quickly like the other two maps. Having the ability to tune it like this is worth the $50 price tag.

Keeping in mind about how much you can believe what you read.......... What I have read is that the map switch is quite noticeable on the 450 whether going to soft or aggressive.

i find that on my 450 the soft setting is very usefull, on very steep hill climbs you have more control of the front wheel, it wont come up so easily. also this advantage goesfor the slower trails. the agressive setting? i only use it for fun every now and then, but basivcally you dont need it, if you don't try to win races. i'm in standard 60% of the time, 30% soft and 10% hard.

map switch

i only ride my on soft permenant love it love it love it

RE: map switch

I have not noticed that much difference, but I do have the switch and have tried the three different settings. I always ride "soft" now. There is plenty of power in all settings but I ride technical trails mostly, and need the bike to be as tractable as possible.
