Fe450 2010 Newbie Questions

Firslty hello from a Kiwi in the UK - new to the forum and hopefully will be here a while.

I am considering purchasing a new 450 for greenlane use and the odd enduro and have a couple of questions.

Milage - what sort of milage for moderate riding are you getting out of a tank?

Gearing - what gearing are you running for single track/green laning?

Service Costs - for anyone in the UK. What sort of price for first service/valve checks?

firstly welcome to the site, where in the uk are you?
i run 13/52 gearing on my 09 fe 450, best bike ive ever had by a mile and that gearing does it as is.
i ran my bike in for the full 12 hours, with 6 oil changes, now i have around 80 hours and have just had my valves checked for the 1st time, with out requiring any adjustment, from a friend, and probably around 15 oil changes and 6 filters, i now have it on agressive map setting love it love it and get around 60 ish miles
the only thing that takes some getting used to is the rear preload it's very finiky but once youv'e mastered it, the bike is awesome

Hi Johnny! based in the South East - Surrey TRF. Where are you?

That's a lot of oil changes - is it fairly normal then - say every 6 hrs?
