no start,

get it back in the workshop and now it has no spark?!

had a new stator in july and has done 10hrs (ish) since, had it tested and seems to be o.k.

any other ideas?

cheers, John

The stator could have failed again. Unfortunately you would not be the first to have lost a new stator after only a few months or 10 engine hours. It would seem the rewinds have proved more reliable. Hopefully Sparks will drop by.

Is it definitely no spark or could the flywheel have been loose, sheared the key & put it way off timing?

There has been once or twice where the magnets have come loose from the flywheel and hit the stator as well.

watch for the wiring harness around the headstock pinching. watch for something as unbelievably stupid as the kill button being crushed in by the clutch cylinder, all connections. doubt it's the SEM unit.

i have two coming back from sparks as you know.....

regards

Taffy

Also water in a stop button or ignition switch? The kill circuit runs at a few hundred volts & a partial short in any of it can stop spark. Try temporarily disconnecting the orange kill circuit wire at the CDI to prove it is not the problem.

Hi John,

You say you have had the stator tested, by what means was this done?. Did you obtain any test figures.

Regards

Sparks.
