The kick activated decompressor can cause return issues.
Next time it sticks down give the decompressor lever behind the kicker a shove/wiggle to see if it is the cause.
Make sure the cable is free and adjusted correctly as well.
Husaberg actually abandoned this feature on later bikes- a smart move given the headaches I've seen it cause.

Scrolled thru Forum last night and got some ideas, problem maybe cresent shaped retainer.
will make a new one, as this seems to be a common problem with this model.
But will check out the rebuild.

stick it in your signature mate.
we have a coupkle of kiwis here. go into forums, then members and go to the bottom. do a search and try to get to location in alphabetic order and also go for K - k for kiwi..... people use that name a lot but we have only about 3 members here i think. one is a dealer i think and has givn us quite a bit of help with rear shock work.
BTW, love my rugby and still play - aged 46. look at the "taff's crescent mod" in upgrades in the doc just incase you want to try it. if you are 5' 10" plus it really is worthwhile!

The return sledge and the cresent shaped "case brace" is what was bad on mine...BUT only after only because the spring had lost tension. I got all new parts for about 28USD from Kurt at Bike Barn in Medford Oregon. Hope this helps....I had to learn the hard way and take it apart and put it back together twice. Order yourself a new spring !!!!!
