raced these for three years and won a championship on it.

2010 was the last good year...open cartridge forks are all 'knighter' wants to run in his independent team.

I won't offer you my stacks on paper from the UK but you defo want 22mm offset clamps on them which is the standard cast alloy clamp on 90% of 2000-2008 bergs.

give me your weight and i'll tell you your springs.

cheers

Thanks for your replies, i"m around 115kg. Ive got 48nm springs for the front and going to put 85nm spring on the rear.

you need 52s in the front and a 95 on the rear. the plastic spring guide on the front, the square thihng like a dog chew needs filing down as the 50+ can only be fitted with its fatter wire when the 4 high points are filed down.

just borrow a 'body filler plain' from a car workshop. an hours work.

because the 570 is a heavy bike, you have to weigh the springs for you AND your heavy bike. defo a 95 on the rear and even then ++ because the LDC 70d engine is very heavy on the rear as well as tyou as well as the overall bike.

regards

Taffy

I've just had 3 x 100 made in white. they will be about 80-90 quid outside the EU if you're interested.

I'm going to start having some fat boy springs made as you don't see many advertised.

You can also use automotive coil over springs for the rear shock if you can find the rate you need. They are cheaper too. You can find the proper spring length and the diameter is very close and Race Tech sells a cheap adapter collar so you can use them. I think I posted information on it before. I bought Eibach springs.

for a 92kg including riding gear person, what springs do I need? FE 570 09
Im 85kg in the sauna and I use 48 front and 80 back. Recommendation from Hammarström and Im very happy with it. What do you think Taffy, agree?

No Jon, I disagree -especially on the rear. I think I've 'discovered' something with suspension and the only way I can prove I'm right is for people to go back-to-back testing.

I think the whole suspension community is wrong. I am changing the whole sidecarcross community slowly.... but it is hard because they all ask reiger and reiger send them back to a soft spring again!

but I did the opposite to everyone else back in 2001 on Thumpertalk and then one man believed me and tried my jetting. then everyone copied me.

then a web site resident jetting 'jetspert' came along after I'd left and sent them all back the other way again!

the FE570 has weak rear compression damping which means that the shock will 'whap-whap' if you power out of situations (you know the one; you're in an open field so just give it 100% the max and you are on opposite lock and will not close the throttle. suddenly the bike just sinks and pings, sinks and pings and you have to back off)

a strong spring helps the damping.
