Anyone put an aftermarket cam in a FE 570?

I have a 2011 FE 570 and I am building it for a snow bike this winter with w Timbersled Kit on it.

The snow bikes like the top end as that is where we spend most of out time, banging limiter haha

I heard the 570s could benefit from some top end and the cam is one of the weak points.

only thing I can find for cam work is these guys

I use a thumper racing/web cams spray welded unit, it has a nice mid to top surge without sacrificing too much tractability. Some people talk of using a fe 450 cam.

which thumper cam are you referring to? the one for the KTM 570 BB?

Also i cant put a hole in my seat because i need to keep as much snow as possible out of there, luckily the HUsaberg airbox is well designed but on powdery days they can still get snow stuck in them. So I don't want to put a hole that will drop snow in vertically. Possibly i could put some prefilter overtop of it but i would still be worried about it.

Water in the air box sucks, I know better now !

The 390 air box is the ticket, it has a small trumpet in it, if a little bit of water/snow gets in then the trumpet should keep the water from entering the intake tract and snuffing the motor. You can trim the top edge of the radiator shrouds for a bit more air flow. A longer intake in theory will work better for top end.

sounds good looks like i will have to get the 390 intake even if it doesn't benefit performance.

also i have bulletproof rad guards on already so the plastic ones have been removed.

that cam profile is for the old bikes. it says '600' for a start.

totally different set-up on the LDC engines.

The grind number has no significance in relation to the bike generation.

It may be that this cam is for the older bikes but it cannot be concluded from the grind number.

yes it can be concluded from the number! it was about for the 600cc engine 15 years ago! it's probably a Lineaweaver cam profile and he'll have got it from someone else who knew someone else.

the 570 is a totally different set-up. totally....

I have measured all the cams and have all the lift numbers. the contact points for the CFBs are different., the rocker arm lengths are different, the leverage ratio and pivot point is different. the valve angles are different.

it is true to say though that both cams fit a motorbike engine. this I will concede.

No idea and don't care.

don't make the mistake of thinking I don't know more or indeed; 'don't know it all', I may well do. but as a result of working closely with the site troll and the extremely biased view of those that know less I know that argueing with you is a waste.

I have much more to offer but have no intention of doing so.

******* hey?

all people need to know is that you DON'T know.

Answers direct questions with "you don't know things! I know things!". Doesn't say what those things are ...

Seems to think it makes him more trustworthy!

Re. cams, here's a tiny bit of info from KTMtalk:

Looks like the 570 cam is the performance cam ...

Doesn't seem to be much in the way of cams for the 510cc up XC4 head, which is what the 'Bergs are. If you find a performance cam for the KTM 530 it stands to reason it could possibly work :) Caveat re. timing in KTMtalk thread above.

Currently I know of only berglsmerg's 610 that has an aftermarket cam in it. It's from Thumper Racing right? I'd give Thumper Racing a call maybe.
