Hi all,
I am keen now in buying an Fe 570...here in Italy there's a dealer who's selling a 570 for a nice price but..it's the 09 model.....could you tell me exactly what are the differences between the two models apart from the reserve indicator?
thanks a lot in advance for the answers.

I believe that the 2010 model got an improved cam-chain tensioner.

Greg

Also, different EPA compliant tanks (Notice they are a darker color) and a different angle on the steering head.

here the fe 570 has always been street legal since the first appearence with the 2009 model...

Pongo et al; why don't you just leave your area address in your sig and be done with it?

regards

Taffy

For me there is not enough difference between the two models to justify paying the premium on the 2010 model, however if it was between 2009 and 2011 I'd go for the 2011 IMHO. If it is a late 2009 the cam chan tensioner issue should have been resolved ex factory. AFAIK the euro and aussie models are the same.

I just put in the Dirt Tricks tensioner and was done with it - cost ~$85 and took 15 minutes. Problem solved.

I had a look at the Dirt Trick tensioner web site...and they talk of 2009-2010...therefore if I think to spend 500 euro more and buy the 10 model rather then the 09 one, perhaps I am wrong as the problem has not being solved in the 2010....am I correct?
And more...is there something else different a part from the cam tensioner, in the 2010 model?

Hi, are you talking brand new 09 570 ?
If so its been stood for 2 1/2 years, i would want more discount than 500euros with 2011 out.
There is no problem with the cam tensioner, so dont let that sway you.
Only difference for eu is low fuel light and 22 offset.

Hi,
500 euro difference is between the 2010 and 2009, basically the 2011 price is 9600 (may be u could get a 5% discount), 2010 8000 eur , 2009 7500 eur.
so my question is ...500 eur between 09 and 10 is it worth? considering both devaluation and technical improvements (if any... ) from the 2009.
thanks again for the answers

There are some new 2009 FE570s here: http://www.gear4offroad.co.uk/?i=95430 for £5495 (€6235). Might be worth borrowing a van ....

I don't know what the issues would be registering it in Italy but you could register it in the UK first (you'd need an address and some insurance) and then re-register it in Italy - might be easier registering a used bike in Italy than a new one but I really don't know.

Greg

if you register in the UK you must pay VAT. you can then re-register it in Italy. if he takes it without registering it he gets 17.5% of 117.5% off.

But VAT in Italy is 20%.

He should still pay the VAT in the UK (whether or not he registers the bike here) and then import to Italy as a personal import, VAT paid.

Greg

there is no VAT on an off-road unregetered vehicle if taking it abroad. maybe he has a friend in switzerland use their address and name on the receipt. then there's no VAT? perhaps I was thinking of non-EU sales?

favourite film:

but doug? ve are not in rrghome?!?!
