Hi all

I'm new to the world of husaberg and have just purchased a 2004 fe 550.
I'm having trouble with the starter, it just weres over on the starter motor and wont start.
I fitted a brand new battery hoping it would help but hasn't.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks Steve

Starter Torque limiter is not engaging, common problem. I find if you start the by kicking it when its cold. the gear tends to last longer.

You will have to remove the side cover to replace.

I've had the starter disengaging on my 650s for years.
Usually during mid startup.
I have always started on the button cold and pull the auto decompress to help it along which has worked for 100s of hours on 3 different bikes.

you'll have to pull the clutch cover and pull the torque limiter out. put it in a vise with soft jaws (i used a thick cloth) and disassemble it and add a thin spacer (or spacers) , reassemble and test breakaway torque to suit (>25 ft lbs). reassemble with loctite.

I do a kit to repair your sprague bearing. don't buy a new one until you have repaired the one you have. look up 'starter repair kit' or 'SRK' on either ebay or on my webshop.
