Can anyone give me a bit of advice/info? I own a '99 FE501. i need a recoating of the bore liner. my question is what year engines are the same in construction as mine, so i could try to find a second hand engine as a spare? Can anyone help?

the engine changed completely for the 2001 model so you have nearly the last of your type.
look at ebay usa as for some reason there is always stuff there.
as far as the nitride coating goes, i use lynxcourt and they've always been spot oin. they don't even charge for a little bit of welding. good company. you'll find them in TMX news or MCN.
