Hi.
I have an 07 fe 450.I have make 180 hours without any problem.I am wondering if i must rebuild the engine or leave us it is (in perfect condition).I use the bike only in road and very slow rides. All say to me that the engine will brake if i don't rebuild it.But i have no problem at all. What i must do?Is any one how has an husaberg and make this hours without rebuild? Only oil after 10 hours cam tsek and oil filter.

I have about the same hours on my 08. From what I gather they can go 3 times that or more. I've seen
claims of 8000 miles. Individual results vary. My bike is running strong and I know I changed the oil
checked the valves regularly so I'm not about to take it apart for the heck of it at 200hrs.

At 180 hours I think that your cam followers need to be checked-the little rollers on the end of the rocker arms.

I replaced mine on my 04 550 at 180 and had waited too long, after 150 hours they are on borrowed time.

And yes, check the cam chain tensioner, and cam chain for wear. On the later bikes 05 on up they came with an updated tensioner slider that resulted in less tensioner movement, in other words you wouldn't run out of tensioner clicks. The EWS cam chain is the way to go if you need to replace it.

My 550 broke a the valve spring at 220 hours. I could have just replaced the springs and kept going but decided to split cases and a look inside. You can read about it here: viewtopic.php?f=5&t=9124
Some folks go to the dual valve springs (kibblewhites?), but, I figured that I got 200 hours on mine so went with stock and decided that if I get that many hours on it again say another 150 will probably pull it down and replace the cam followers and valve springs at the same time.

You can tell if the cam followers are starting to wear when the valve lash increases instead of decreasing, but you should pull your rocker box and check the followers for roughness and play just to make sure.
