while up at clarky's getting me water logged berg sorted :? had the chance to try out this 380 they put together 04 450 with a 95mm dia piston not sure what crank think it may still be the 450,s First impressions the bike felt a lot lighter than the 501 power seem,s very smooth no big hits through the woods i reckon this bike would come into its own . After having the grunt of the 501 sometimes makes you fell the bike wants to push straight on were as this 380 feels like a bike you could push harder in the woods without getting away from you :D well impressed

if it's a 380 then it'll be the stroke of the 450 and the barrel of my 400. my stroke is 60mm and the 450s is 57mm. guess what! it's 379cc.

what they really want to make is the stroke of my engine and a 95mm (501) piston of 95mm. that makes a 425.

or get the woessner 97mm piston from the KTM and you have a LS 450. SR off-road and i discussed this and apparently it's an experiment that husey teams want to try. the KTM has a lot longer stroke yet the rest of the two bikes in the engine are identical. carb, cam, valves, ignition.

any advantage for yellow has to come from the far longer stroke.

armed with this knowledge you can now visit DCR and be the svengali of preston.

there's a thrill for ya :D

380 berg

did the maths today with vorman if the 450 crank is left in then to get a 380 a slug of 92 would be needed :? clarkmeister must have used bits lying around in his roof space groto :D did feel a good woods tool .Do you get up this way to ride taff ?

guess what, the 400 has a bore of 92mm.

oop nerth? no fella, sorry!

I wonder if the market for a 400 is big enough for Husaberg to make a production run? The 400 was loved by all, and KTM brought back the 400 by popular demand, heck even KTM's Mike Lafferty rides the 400 instead of the 450. Sometimes too much, is just too much.

the short 450 stroke and the 95mm bore of the 501 make a 405cc bike.

Taffy

Not sure where on would come up with a crank, but a 95x64 would make for a light feeling 501 that would displace 450.
