fcr 41 mm only runs with hot start open

Hello all, Looking for help. I picked up an fcr 41 mm pumper second hand
and just installed it.My husaberg is an '02 fe501e. I can only get the bike to
start and run with my hot start wide open allowing fresh air to bleed into the mix. I am running a 175 main, #48 pilot, ocems needle #4 from top and I've had my fuel air screw everywhere from 1/4 to 2 & 1/2.

I guess you will have to start with checking the float level then.

go to this thread and try my 'e' series jetting. http://www.husaberg.org/modules.php?nam ... 4&start=45
you'll see that you're needle is totally wrong. EKQ is what you need.

a 48PJ is no good without the correct PAJ. we have a similar thread running asking for the jetting on a '05 bike. have look there for the correct PAJ. the best thing to do is buy a pilot air screw and a 42 and 38PJ. you'll be covered then across the range.

don't forget to either turn the APJ off or modify it.

how much was the carb if i may ask and where did you get it?

Sorry for the stupid question, but what is the APJ and how do you turn it off or modify it?

APJ stands for accelerator pump jet. the squirty thing when you open the throttle.
