How many of you have a pre 1999 FC and a 1999-2003 FC Husaberg?

I'm looking to find out the difference in the two stators? is it the same stator just spun around?

I'm looking for a used early one and better still - a source for new ones?

help!

Taffy

I had one rebuilt supposedly for a 1998 FE600... once installed I blew the front of the engine off, literally the casings and everything connected to the shaft.

I can do some testing on it for you if you'd like.

cheers Rsaco but being an FE it will be different and have charging coils around it next to the 'runnung' coils.

regards

Taffy

nobody here with a stator from 1989-1998? looks like we have plenty of post '98s here though!

I have two or three. Two are dead and one the lighting coil went bad,it will run but no lights. I have replaced them with the ebay Chinese ones and they all run great.

an FC doesn't have lighting coils? or are you saying that even an FC could run and charge a battery/run lights?

I don't really get it.

The two yellow wires coming off the stator are the charge/power wires. Put them to a regulator and you can run lights.

I don't know about the European models but all the Bergs that I have dealt with here in the US all came with lighting capabilities. FC, FE, and of course Elduros. The 99-up have different OHM read outs but the stators look the same as the earlier style. I figured if you ran the newer style stator you would have to run the newer style module, I believe the newer style module is not compatible with the early pre 99 stator.

I Have one FE 501 1999 and two FC 501 2000. The FC's have different stator's in them vs the FE. The FE is larger and have the out put wires to the regulator. A true FC stator only have 3 wires out of it vs 5 on the FE.

Now, I can add the larger fly wheel and the larger stator to the FC and convert it.......But this is not original equipment

this is all very well but we are compiling a dossier of people with 1999-2003 stators and not 1989-1998 FC stators.

if this was a football song they'd be singing;

"there's only one FC stator. one FC s-t-a-t-o-r, there's only one FC stator!"

we awiat someone with a pre '99.

I've got my popcorn!

you've got me? I don't knwo where I've gone wrong? you''ll have to explain?

Taffy

hi i have fc 600 from 98 and fc 600 from 2000
the difference in the stators is a large stator in 98 is mounted to the crankcase and in 99 to the lid with physical differences thickness other newer stator is thinner besides there are other coils in older tm 14-05 in newer icu 10 to make it work you need to find a stator from this year either to 98 or 99-03 It is impossible to replace these ignition gears, the magnet wheels are mounted the other way round to the shaft
