Hi all,

Now i'm not old, just outstandingly lazy. My berg, an '04 FC 450, kicks over just beautifully. Two or three when cold, every time when hot but I'd love an e-start. Nothing better than 'There's a button for that'. Plus, i'm pretty fed up with the left kick as I ride an XR every other day and the right side is just natural for me. Some lights wouldn't hurt either.

Was wondering what's involved and what bits a pieces i'd have to shell out for to make the bike an FE electrically. From what i've gathered after reading the service manual i'd need:
-Starter Motor
-Starter Relay
-FE Stator
-FE Flywheel
-Battery
-Regulator

Anything else?

Anyone attempted this before, successfully?
Taffy, do you have a 'kit' for this?

Cheers,
Connor

no, i don't have a kit as such. you'll need an FE ignition cover as well.
three HT leads (2 red, one black)
starter motor mount.
two gears inside the engine. one is the starter clutch, the other is the sprague which consists of 3 parts and a bearing. and they aren't cheap!
the wiring up to the bars is easy.
oh and a battery box as well.
and the strap and the little rubber to go in the mount hole
and a solenoid mount

Taffy
