Does anyone know of a second hand full system going for sale? I am looking for one for my '03 501, preferably with a 32mm ID. I already have a Akro silencer but the buggers made a different silencer to fit their headers which means i woud need a full system! Not cheap! If someone has a set of 'performance' headers which will bolt up to a standard fitment silencer kicking around or indeed a full system going cheap please let me know!!

Hey ben, whynot get a small sleeve machined up to fit the akra to the stock headers? you must have the silencer from the full system, as the slip on version of the akra was made to go onto stock headers (I think).

Hi Azza, I already have stock headers which go into the Akro slip on silencer. I am after a full system so need the headers and the 'full system' silencer or a set of headers from another make that will fit the slip on Akro silencer!
Is their a way of getting the Akro headers which come from their full system to fit the Akro slip on silencer?

Theres allways a way, but it probably requires cutting the flange off the slip on mufflers front cap and having a new one machined up and welded back on.

How easy is it to cut and weld Ti? I have a friend who works with alloy... Is it similar to work with?

At home, not easy at all - to get a decent weld you need the ti completely immersed in inert gas while welding. Much better to find a local welding shop that can do it for you and have the equipment.

If memory serves me correctly the reason the silencers won't fit is that the exhaust pipe diameter is totally different between the two systems.

Don't worry Ben, I haven't forgotten about you!

It's progressing albeit slowly. As I'm sure you understand I'm doing this on the side as a one man band with limited resources and time and it's taking time to get things right. The last thing I want is something that doesn't do exactly what it says on the tin and falls apart as that would waste everybody's time.

Ah maybe i should jus stop being impatient!! A set of headers that were a standard fitment so i could bolt them straight to this Akro slip on would be nice simon?? Preferably ou t of Ti aswell but if you crack it in stainless first i don't think a few extra grams would hurt, will just take a bit longer to 'blue' up nicely! Keep me posted!
