This is a 2008 Husaberg FE550 with an Akrapovic Exhaust.

I need your help. My bike started to show signs of what looked like some oil spraying around the where the exhaust meets the piston header. The oil is everywhere, so it is difficult trying to pin point where it is coming from, but I believe this is it.

Should any oil be coming out of here at all? I thought it should just be exhaust gas coming out, not oil?

Should I just put some High temp RTV sealant around the exhaust pipes and slide them back in there?

Let me know if you guys see any other problems. Like indication of what the health of the engine is maybe?

After speaking with a friend, he believes it is coming from between the valve covers and the exhaust where my finger is pointing. There is no gasket for this part?

Should I just reapply RTV to it?

look where my finger is pointed.

All I have is the manual for the 650, but there is no gasket for that part, the gasket im pointing to is below all of the leaks.

That is the head gasket you are pointing at in the parts fiche. Yes it is located below all your trouble.
No, there is no gasket on the valve cover, you just clean it up and use good rtv. Some swear by wurth stuff. Check the small gasket on the valve adjustment cover. Also, check the tube that you took off the two spigots at the top of the head, the ones you have shop towels stuffed in. Mine split and was spewing oil down the front of the engine.

That is a great thought. Part #9 the rubber Y tube that runs to those spigots is kind of chewed up because I think I tightened the hose clamps too tight on them.
What is that oil? Isn't that just air from the airfilter? or is oil coming from below and up into the tube?

It is a vent tube, the oil is coming up from the valve train. That is why when you dump the bike upside down, the air box fills with oil.

you can have an oil leak from where that orange bead is - true but there is also the chance of it coming from the oil trap - the funnel shaped rubber tube. then there are those that overtighten the hose clips to it and break the thing. then the tube itself ontop of the head can become loose.

but it is NOT the engine itself using that oil. your engine is simply leaking from somewhere?

why not jet wash the hole area, inspect for splits etc as above and then just simply run it up and wait for the leak?
