Enginenumber

I am perhaps bying a Husaberg 550 with enginenumber 5542014 and the Doc`s explanation about the enginenumber don`t match.
The engine has electricstart, Dellorto carb and are supposed to be an 550 at least the owner says and from 2002, the frame is from 2002 FC and it has Sm wheels on.
Anybody out there who knows more about the enginenumbers to Husaberg and how to read them to find out what motor it is?

Sounds right to me??

My 03 650 starts with 65
My 02 501 starts with 50

Surely a 550 would start with 55

Those nos. in the doc are for later bikes- 2004 and o when Husaberg adopted the KTM engine no. system.

husaberg have made a 550 from 2001 for MX or CC.
