Ok to those of you who still remember the 2000 era bikes, I have a few questions about engine upgrades. I was considering selling my -berg a 2000 fc501 but since then I have had second thoughts, so since I am keeping it what are the best upgrades to perform? So far in the “owner’s docâ€Â

Update your rocker arms and while you are there do the cam bearings.

Hey guys, thanks for the info. My bike only has 26 hours on it give or take about 2hrs. At the last two oil changes (I change it pretty often, about every 4 hrs.) I found a few aluminum shavings in the steel mesh "tampon" filter, so I am wanting to get things sorted out. Also, is it ok to ride the bike until the parts come in? My intuition is telling me no, but if the contaminated is not getting through the whole system it should be ok, right? I don't really intend to ride it, but it would be nice to know, in case the urge overpowers me....

JoeUSA, what about a lower sprocket, The chain has to go over something that is linked to the crank, does that wear out, or is it generally ok?

Ok, I guess that pretty much answers all my questions... at least until I open her up.... I really appreciate the help guys, this board has been great. I really do love these bikes, every time somebody asks me what type of bike I ride they say "a Husawhat?!!" its great. At least until a dealer asks you the same thing... but thats another story.

Thanks again
-Eric
