ausberg?

isn't it more likely that its

800 = 450
810 = 550
820 = 650

just asking.

Taff,
When those capacity prefixes were quoted in their original thread it was stated that they needed confirmation as I was only 100% sure about the date prefixes and the have since confirmed the 650s as "820"......the others I wasnt sure about and suggested someone ie a dealer should back it up...

Quite happy for someone to confirm or dispute the 450/550/650 prefixes for the engine nos :? , Im suprised no one did in the original thread.

Heres the original thread I put it up in:

HI CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHAT A 2000 MODEL 400CC ENGINE NUMBER SHOULD START WITH AND WHERE IS IT SITUATED? THANKS

i could be wrong, but mine starts with a 116 and is on the right side under the cylinder, which is marked 400cc

Heres how it works,
The first number is the year model 8* is 2008 then the next three numbers designate the engine capacity so 8*810* is a 2008 450cc, 8*815* is a 2008 550cc and 8*820* is a 650cc. the rest of the numbers are your unique 1 of engine number.
sometimes say a 1998 KTM model can start with 8 same as a 2008 so you have to work out what vintage you think the bike is and thats usually obvious. Husaberg only adopted the KTM style engine ID numbering when they changed to the new part number system that KTM used which was 2001-2 i think maybe 2003. So a 2013 Berg could start with 3 the same as a 2003 but the next 3 model numbers will change.
It changed because they started using so many KTM Exc parts on the Bergs. Our computer spare parts system will automatically give you the new superceded part number if you typed an old berg number in.
On top of that your Husaberg part number starts with 800, 815, 820 that part fits a Husaberg only, if it starts with 590 that means it shares that part with a KTM 525 and 583 is a KTM 450 part.
What i explained here applies up to 2008 Bergs, when they built the new engines the 3 id numbers changed. KTM exc changed in 2008.
On top of that never use the compliance plate on the frame to accurately find your model year as this date is the month and year it was manufactured or rolled off the production line which is normally months before the designated model year release and before the new years day. Always use the engine ID or go to an approved dealer and supply the last 6 digits of your vin and he can tell you, the year model is hidden in the vin.
ORANGEBERG its easy to understand when you say it fast
