I have recently bought a husaberg FE400 Supermotard for 2003.
It has only 3240km's and the bike is in good condition.

But I have read a few things about the <'04 models have problems with the valvehitters/valvesprings (dont know if that is correctly spelled). and also the bearings of the camshaft is best to be replaced by KTM bearings? (which 04> have from factory?)

Is this true and can anyone give me the correct KTM partnumbers for the valvehitters/springs and the bearings on the camshaft?

Thanks in advance!

RE: Engine Improval Fe400

ok, the '03 should have the later rocker arms (valve hitters). we have photos in the doc under red alert and under amber alert. have a look at the two photos and then decide. the bearings are called followers. they are what you are looking at. as said, i expect that you have the later ones.

have a really good read of the doc and that will help you. also, you might want to check how up-to-date your camchain and camchain tensioner are. to do this you can simply pull the tensioner out of the back of the engine and count up the clicks that have been used. again, check if you have the later or earlier tensioner. the later is purely steel whereas the earlier one has an alloy blob on the end.

i have an earlier tensioner which i changed the alloy blob at the time for steel. so you will see that photo somewhere in the doc but if you can't find it it's in my gallery.

hope this helps.

PS: try to put your address and make of bike in your signature somewhere - it really helps!

ok, the I See the photo in the Red alert, but i cant see a photo of the rocker arms amber alert?
And I don't really know what to look for exactly if I inspect my Rocker arms?
I did already read the owners doc, and I will check my camchain and camchain tensioner.

Thnx for the advices!

Well,
my personal story with the dutch is very similar to yours, haha
Ruud Guillit, Marco van Basten - what a time!
Egbert Streuer? I´m getting old, can´t remember him...
But google helped: 3-time world-champion sidecar; also found his "Stredor-engine"

Why non-biking? Come later this year with your bikes! And find out that Holland is not all choked highways and suburbs. check out http://www.knmv.nl/index.php?view=porta ... Road.html# and choose kalender. If you finally can't follow the Dutch, i' ll help out. From september on there will be Sunday's of off-road riding on Dutch enduro championship tracks organized by the dutch motorcycle association (KNMV) . Come over and see a lot of Husaberg's and enjoy the sand and mud. Some weekends you can ride on Saterday and Sunday.
