Hi everyone. I just ordered an enigne blocking screw for my 2010 FE 390 and im not sure where it threads into. I know its when the engine is at TDC its supposed to "lock" the crank from turning but i cant seem to find where to thread it. any pictures of how to install it? Thanks
-Matt

It's the bolt just to the left and below the oil filler. BUT - my 2010 390 came with this bolt. It has a thick copper washer. You take this washer out, then install the bolt again to lock the crank.

Move the engine slowly to get to TDC, and shine a light down the locking hole to confirm that you have it right. There is a small notch that the bolt locks into.

I just did my valves yesterday. I had the tank off anyway to pull the header to have it ceramic coated. Normally I don't pull the tank to do the valves, but it's definitely easier to do when it's off.

Hmm mine doesnt have that. Is it the little allen plug thats right next to the clutch slave?

8O I'm an ***** haha. Sorry still a little hung over. I see it now and looks like it'll work definitely

Here is a picture of the Crank Locking Bolt or as they call it in the parts list:

It is just a 80mm long standard metric 8mm bolt with standard 1.25mm Thread Pitch. Only thing special is it has a Allen Key head on it and the end that screws into the motor is tappered.

Here is a picture of the Allen Key head.

Here is a picture of the Washer you can remove instead of using the locking bolt. The washer is 5.5mm thick.

thanks for the pics and info. i just ended up using the stock bolt with the copper washer out but in reality i didnt even need to do it because all my valves were in spec. now its time for some evans coolant and djh cam chain tensioner!
