Hello folks - I am wondering if any sparkies would be able to help with my Starlane gear indicator? I know it's not that necessary even on my fs650 but I got it free in a deal , and I have a Starlane GPS lap timer on already - so .
My problem is that it needs to know what speed the bike is doing as to corolate revs and speed to know which gear to display. Due to me having an aftermarket dash, I don't have a sensor circuit for the front wheel. The wire seems to go down to the pickup and then back to the dash , so I need to know if there is another wire that can send the correct power down to the pickup. I'm assuming that it would need to be of low power ?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks !

I tried to install an Engear on my Husky and gave up because it was next to impossible to set up correctly. The Engear requires an input from the speed-o pick up and to calibrate it you have to hold a constant rpm in each gear. This is easy to do on a sportbike because the speed-o pick up is on the transmission so you can just put it on a rear stand and run it up the gear box. On a supermoto /enduro the speed-o pick up magnet is on the front rotor so you actually have to ride the bike while setting up the Engear. Not an easy task...

Yeh -it is hard to hold the constant throttle, but that's for the shift light feature which I already have on the main Starlane dash , which is set manually, so I don't really need it. I'm mainly after a wire to replacate the feed down to the speedo pickup sensor. Is there another wire of that voltage I can use ? What kind of voltage do these generally need ? Thanks again !
