electric start on 2002 650.

Hi,
just bought a 2002 650. The electric start has been taken off i have all the bits in a box plus a electric start from a R6.
The previous owner says this is a upgrade and will start the bike easily. is this correct?
If yes would i need to buy a upgrade battery and where would i get one.
Also does any one have a engine diagram showing how the electric start goes together.

Hi Craig,

i got my 650 in pretty much the same condition as yours, have a bit of a trawl through the owners docs and you should have it starting off the button with a bit of time and work.
Once its got the R6 starter and gears back in you'll need to look at valve clearances, ignition timing, auto de-comp mod or up-grade and battery up-grade etc. Not rocket science with a bit of spanner work and advice on here,
