98 FC 501 Well decided to take 'er on down to the local Gooding, Idaho 1/8th mile drag strip and see how she ran. Had to bail out of the first 2 races due to kick startin issues (wouldnt start in all the excitement, and I need to exercise my left leg some more and maybe do some aerobics) Anyways, finally found a guy who was racing his quad to give me a pull start (hehheh), and had to cut in line 'fore she died out on me and pulled along side a 600 katana krotch rocket. We had to wait a min. well, 22 seconds to be exact for the race in front of us: A 69 Chevelle 454 big block and chubby 30year old guy on a honda xr100 (and yes he was serious)(time trials, theys funny ta watch). So we finally got the goahead from huston and I finally got the rear tire ta take a bite after 'bout a second of dinkin around. Had been practicin my launch out on the local highway where I had to worry bout landin on my *** ,and out at the track was a little differnt... didnt need to worry bout my *** but the ***** of the folk in the bleachers as the rear end wanted to spin around and mail me that direction. Well I hadnever quite opened it uup all the way till that day and was quite surprised, and cought up to the katana just in time for the finish line 1/8th mile in 9.79 sec at 81 mph. Katana was 9.80. SO I was feelin pretty good about my self now, got back in line and decided to leave her runnin this time. Well after bout 6 or 7 min. noticed my sun glasses were gettin foggy, was like "well what in the sam hell is goin on here and look down and seen dangum steam and coolant comin from the radiatarr.
THE END

If your bike was hot after a race then you should not have had any difficulties kicking it back to life.

Say, what was the Katana rider's attitude after his terrible defeat? Let me guess: stock Katana?

That was the best post I've read in a long tme. Thanks! Your wording is really cool throughout.

"Got the goahead from Houston".
I can visualize the Christmas Tree counting down after that line.

Drag racing has to be the stupidest and at the same time the most exciting type of racing.

Who has never drag raced at the light is a pedestrian.
