Do the 09 Berg and the KTM Oil Filters interchange?

I'm wanting to put stainless filters in my 09 450FE. I've been running them in my CRF's for years and love them.

Does anyone know if the Berg uses KTM filters and if so, which model do they come from? If I can get a cross reference, I'll be able to find a stainless setup that'll work for me. Also, do the filter covers that go on the case cross ref to anything KTM? Some of the filter kits come with billet covers and I wouldn't mind adding a little eye-candy to an already beautiful bike....

I've done quite a bit of searching and it would appear that (the older?) Bergs use KTM filters, but I can't find anything that narrows down the year model.

The more I ride this machine, the more I love it. After the suspension broke in and I figured out how to correctly set up the dash, this thing's just killer. I've ridden it in the wet, slick woods of Ohio to the desert of So-Cal and AZ and the Berg does everything I ask of it.

Now if they'd just make a motocross bike that works as well as the FE, I'd ditch my CRF in a couple of years!

The part numbers on the filters I have been using. (standard paper) On the box you have 77038005044 but on the actual filter you have two numbers 77038005000 and also 2101725. Don't know about the covers but some one here will.
Hope this helps Steve

As above, Box says 77038005044 and filter says 77038005000 + a batch no. It is the same as the KTM 06- 250SXF.

Same filter as the late model 250F's, not the RFS engine. The filter looks the same as the 155 RFS filter but it is ever so slightly different. The newer one is the 655 for the 250f KTM's.

Thanks guys. I was also told the same (KTM 250F SX) on Thumper Talk. It's nice to have it validated both directions.

Okay, so now another question; Which filter is it?
The large one or the small one?

I'm wanting to do the stainless filter and billet (bling) cover, but they don't list as per bike, just size: Filtron Filters

Note that the KTM RC4 250F bikes use only one filter, not two as in the RFS engines.

The new Berg Oil filter is the same size as the old one when you first look at it, but, according to the Hi Flo rep, instead of their HF155 (like the older berg) you will want to use the HF655...higher micron count or more pleats and better filtration or better oil flow (cant exactly remember what he said) but the HF655 Hi FLo is the one you will want to use, plus the HF655 actually comes with the oring just like the factory ones.
