anyone got a 125 as a second bike.

for some strange reason i fancy getting one as whenever i've had a blast on one i found them fun.

plus theres plenty of 3 - 5 yr old 125 mx bikes in the ads its just a case of finding one that a balance of price and condition.

This is my sons YZ125. At 190 lbs dry this thing has a 50 lbs weight advantage over my Berg. Its hard to keep up with the young feller especially over the whoops.

I have a Husky wr125,it is a great bike.A 125 asks a little more from you in that you have to be more precise in your gear selection/rpm for the terrain .I am getting old so I find that if I have to ride hurt or sore the 125 is easier on me. :D

you never cease to amaze me....that bike looks, typically, like it has never seen dirt, whoops!! not. Very nice

You are correct Fry. These pictures were taken after the bike was purchased new and then modified. It doesn't look quite this nice anymore. I was able to pick up a new 06 YZ125 for a little more than $4000 and then put about $2000 into it. It makes a great desert bike. The Phathead head with a couple steps higher compression dome along with a Wiesco flat top piston give it a bunch of low end compared to stock

Nice

Have you been getting the bikes muddy in the rains of SoCal? or has it turned everything into slop?

I'm a bit biased as I'm a long time 125 rider but without a doubt to mix it up and have some fun a 125 is a great second bike.Switching from the Berg to the 125 will have that 125 feeling like a feather underneath ya!
Sure is a ton of fun to throw em around and scream the guts out of em too.I say go for it!

The deserts near San Diego have only received a fraction of what we get near the coast.
The conditions have been perfect as its just tacky enough to keep the dust down. We will be heading out for three days this weekend :)

125s are great fun on or off road, just finishing off my project of tur:)ning my kx 125 into a supermoto then dropping a kx 500 lump into it....:)

Here's a more recent photo. Not quite as pristine as in the previous one. Hopefully this proves that we do in fact actually ride our bikes when we are not cleaning them
