Hello all,

I know that 2004 cam is about 266degrees duration and about 10,82lift+I have also the X2 cam with his 272 degrees duration.

has any body has the specs from a 2005 -2006-2007cam???

Thanks

Madero

Hello Madero,

The 06 parts book calls for the 800.36.019.000 cam for the 03-06 450/501/550 and

the 820.36.010.000 cam for the 04-06 650. The 07 parts book isn't available on line yet.

Regards,

Joe

good ole madero

many are just happy that it runs but you always hit the searching question button!

i only know that the present OEM cams still don't have the convex flanks (DL) and yet the X2 does which tells me that the LX2 produces more torque and has 'more power under the line' then the factory stuff.

i would hazard a guess that the 650 cam is the SAME cam but with the keyway slot repositioned due to the cylinder being tallere and therefore would otherwise change the timing.

i think husaberg normally only have one cam profile but it's the keyways that differ.

A puzzle is only good for so long. Those old bits and pieces just get worn out after so many assemblies.

Since we are on the subject of cams, I got a tip from someone in Sweden to try a KTM 400 cam in my 380. we had to cut off the shaft that goes to the water pump on the ktm to make it work. the lower part of the power is strong and responsive, much like the 450, without the midrange hit, very nice. the only thing bad is the fuel milage, before with the stock cam I could go 40 miles or so, last weekend I ran out at 29 miles. Could it be the cam? or am I running more on the main jet? mj 172, needle jet R and pilot 42.

the cam is directly responsible for the loss. but it sounds like the timing is out on the cam. go back and check again!

when right the fuel economy will be the same.

also a better cam will allow leaner jetting but right now the problem is the cam (timing).

i can't emphasise enough that the bike must be at EXACTLY TDC and use the ruler across the lobes as mentioned in the doc.

Late model KTM camshafts are exact duplicates of the pre 2001 Husaberg.

Yes, they drop right in. I sale many X2 camshafts to KTM owners.

Funny, Yes?

My first prototype camshaft for the post 2000 engine was an early engine camshaft with the pump drive cut off.

Json, That camshaft was once in your bike and I still have it. :D
