Differences between FC and FE?

I got a 02 FC 550, and i am about to put on lights to get the bike street legal.

Can anyone tell me if there is any difference in the engine on the FE 550 compeared to the FC 550.

Hi,

the main difference is to be found in the transmission.
The FE has got 6 gears and the FC has got 4.

What about the stator? Have you got one with coils for electrical functions, what means do you have 2 yellow and 1 blue wire coming
out of your stator?

I got those three wires from the stator.

I am about to make a simple wiering for only head light and tail/brake light.

Will the voltage from the stator blow my light bulbs if not regulated?

Here were i live, the Enduro tracks are very slow, so i do not think the 4 speed transmission should make any problem.

Does anyone know the cost of putting in 5. and 6. gear? What parts do i need then?

Hi,

yes you must install the voltage regulator. The stator produces round about 50 volts.
So it is necessary to use the voltage regulator. Maybe I have one in my garage I can get rid of. ;-)

For the change from 4 to 6 gears youÃ‚Â´ll need 2 gear wheel (5th and 6th gear) on the secondary shaft,
one shifting fork and the shifting fork axle. That should be all. The shift drum is able to shift 6 gears.
